Casa Gatito — 3D Miniature Floor Plan Visualization
This is a personal 3D project I created for my short-term rental, a cozy two-bedroom, one-bathroom guest house in Pioneertown, California's High Desert.
I wanted to go beyond a traditional floor plan and create a charming miniature world that helps guests visualize the layout and cozy atmosphere of the space. Inspired by the surrounding desert landscape, I chose a warm, earthy color palette that blends the natural beauty of the High Desert with the inviting interior.
To bring the scene to life, I incorporated physically simulated water and steam effects for the outdoor hot tub, along with an animated coyote to add a touch of wildlife and personality to the desert environment. These details bring movement, realism, and a playful sense of storytelling to the miniature world.
For the furnishings, I used cloth simulations to create soft, naturally shaped pillows, outdoor cushions, and bedding, along with fluid simulations for the cedar hot tub water. These techniques helped achieve a more organic and realistic look while maintaining the stylized miniature aesthetic.
I was responsible for the entire CG production process, from initial modeling, texturing, shading, and look development to lighting, animation, simulation, rendering, and compositing.
My goal was to create something both informative and visually engaging, capturing the warmth, character, and charm of my little desert getaway.
