Blaze That Ass
I was the visual designer for this album artwork series, and it was such a
fun project to create for two of my favorite artists, Big Freedia and
SOPHIE. I first heard SOPHIE’s music at the Rhonda party in Silver Lake, and the beats instantly grabbed me. Years ago I told SOPHIE she had her biggest fan in me - and I meant every word. It was a real honor to make artwork for both of them. My idea was to create something iconic for the song while blending each of their visual and musical identities into one image. The colorful, candy-coated treatment on a simple butt shape felt like the perfect way to capture the playful, bold energy of their collaboration. I used Figma Weavy to help generate ideas and explore different design approaches.
